Shift Light Overview

The 5-Stage Shift Light consists of five light emitting diodes (LEDs) of different colors, which light up in sequence as you approach the shift point of your vehicle. Each LED may be set to turn on at a specific engine revolutions per minute (RPM) using a simple, one button operation. Most commonly, shift lights are used to indicate the shift point that provides the maximum torque, but they may also be used to minimize fuel consumption.
A typical shift light is a single light provided as a stock feature with some vehicles, which illuminates once the engine of the vehicle is turning at some set RPM, indicating that the driver should shift gears. Those familiar with such shift lights are likely to know that the set point provided by the manufacturer, which cannot be modified, is often wrong, as listening to the vehicle, and experience, dictates. The variety utilized by performance racers frequently comes in the form of a large, single light that has a user-definable set point. The Shift Light improves on both of these designs.

To set your five shift lights, bring your engine RPM to the desired set point, which is the point at which the light will turn on while driving, and press the button. Repeat this process for the remaining lights.
